Together at Borderlands

Friday 22nd – Monday 25th August 2008

The booking forms are now available for this year’s Borderlands Weekend, along with an information leaflet. It’s a ‘first-come-first-served’ approach so I would urge you to book up soon to ensure you get the accommodation of your choice.

Weekends away are always a great blessing; eventful, exciting and full of faith, and Borderland 06 was all that and more. So I have a lot of expectation for this year’s camp, and even more so after praying at the recent Leader’s Prayer & Fasting days in February, for all the ‘Together at…’ weekends that are being organised by Newfrontiers churches across the nation this year (eight in total).

As we prayed I caught in my spirit something of the bigger picture; the wider purposes of the Lord in establishing these ‘regional camps’…

As the children of Israel entered the Promised Land under the leadership of Joshua it was imperative they did it all together and gathered and fought as one. Then after a time the strategy God revealed to Joshua shifted to a new phase and the tribes were given specific areas of the land. From the Cities they had already seen victory in, they were to move out as a tribe in that region and take the land in that locality for God.

In 2001, after 10 years of Bible weeks at Stoneleigh, Terry Virgo and Team – in response to the prompting of the Holy Spirit - called an end to the gathering of all the churches within the Newfrontiers family, it was the end of that particular strategic move by God. Now after a period of a few years there is a new move of the Spirit; a new phase in God’s purposes is beginning to become clear: In the next few years we will see a multiplication of ‘Stoneleighs’.

It won’t happen over night, but it will happen by God’s grace, a lot of prayer, hard work and with churches in the various regions across the nation being caught up together on the exciting mission of God.

Together at Borderlands will be significant for us as a Region, as a church and individually – I believe God’s Holy Spirit will meet with us at NEWI in a way we’ve not encountered him before; He’s coming to shape us and motivate us into a ‘Joshua Army Tribe’, and to mould us into the Missional Community we are called and saved to be – this is not a Borderlands to be missed…make sure you book soon!

Love Bernard
